Inspired by Giacomo Puccini’s opera of the same name, the Turandot decor pays homage to the chinoiseries of the 18th century, which already played an important role in the Rosenthal designs of the late 19th century. The source of inspiration lies on the banks of the West Lake in Hangzhou, China and is reflected in the interlocking of western and eastern elements.
